Another good sign of intellectual and spiritual growth among Catholic people in their ability and willingness to commit themselves to social justice in the varied ways there is need for a voice of respect, acceptance, affirmation for the dignity of all people.  As we see the old fears and prejudices breaking down to the forceful healing of mind and spirit  more and more the damaging attitudes of another era and other generations fall away and are seen for what they are/were: "dangerous and harmful to all God's children."

I thought I'd check a few quotes about homosexuality on Google:

“The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision.”

That's from Lynn Lavner. And here's one from Sam Austin:

“Homosexuality is god's way of insuring that the truly gifted aren't burdened with children.”

One more? This one is from Charles Pierce:

“It's better to be black than gay because when you're black you don't have to tell your mother.”

There's a funny side to everything ya know.
